Sawmill Superintendent

Our El Dorado location in Arkansas, United States is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Sawmill Superintendent. This job is permanent, full-time.

We are looking for someone eager to join our team to manage all aspects of Sawmill production and supervision for Resolute El Dorado.

Your challenges:

• Manage key personnel.
• Ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
• Ensure the high production of quality goods in a safe and efficient manner.
• Plan and oversee budgetary items, including fixed and variable costs.
• Communication with log procurement to ensure adequate supply of logs to properly run the mill.
• Monthly inventories for parts, logs, and lumber.  Responsible for accurate inventory counts.
• Provide leadership in all aspects to improve management’s desired results.
• Work with all operators to verify machines are operating correctly and addresses problems and/or questions.
• Review maintenance issues with Maintenance leadership, writes work orders as needed.
• Set and maintain a high standard for housekeeping.
• Ensure lumber from all machine centers is produced to quality standards.
• Responsible for training and certification of employees for their job tasks.

Your Profile:

• High School diploma or GED.
• 8 years experience in lumber manufacturing.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Background in maintenance, preferably.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Knowledge of quality control procedures.
