The location in Childersburg, Alabama is seeking talent to fill the position of Operations Coordinator.

 

Primary Purpose

 

Provides the primary operational/technical resource for the Bleach Plant, Chlorine Dioxide, and Tall Oil operations.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Communicate clear expectations for area operating personnel regarding safety, quality, environmental compliance, and production.
  • Ensure compliance within all safety, environmental and quality parameters by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points and develop specific actions to address identified liabilities.
  • Conduct one-on-one safety and environmental reviews with all direct reports as required.
  • Perform safety and housekeeping audits and follow up to ensure corrective actions are completed. Follow up on reported Near Misses.
  • Have a clear understanding of our safety standards and procedures, comply with them and ensure your employees know and apply to keep them safe.
  • Create, maintain, and revise area HELP and TAGs.
  • Provide leadership and coordination with all departments.
  • Monitor process parameters and provide feedback to operations personnel to maintain consistent high quality production.
  • Resolve operational problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and taking actions needed to address the issues.
  • Anticipate training needs and schedule training time and training classes to develop operators for advanced positions.
  • Establish and implement operational guidelines and procedures.
  • Review and prioritize maintenance work weekly to maintain a high level of process reliability.
  • Identify and document repair needs and improvement ideas for shutdown planning.
  • Cooperate with maintenance coordinators and planners to maximize area equipment reliability and optimize maintenance resources.
  • Develop and execute operational plans for plant shutdowns and startups to maximize maintenance time and minimize process downtime.
  • Liaise with vendors and contractors.
  • Ensure month end
  • Develop operating budget proposals for the department.
  • Develop maintenance and repair budget proposals for the department.
  • Track, control and report on operational expenses and supplies.

 

Knowledge and Experience

 

  • Engineering degree required (Chemical Engineering preferred)
  • Experience in pulping operations (bleaching process preferred)
  • Effective written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills.

 

Candidates must have the ability to work and remain in the US without sponsorship
