Shift Team Lead - Dryer

Our Coosa Pines location in Childersburg, Alabama is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Dryer Shift Team Lead. This job is full-time and onsite.

Primary Purpose

 

Lead and supervise one of 4 shifts for the complete operations and maintenance of the Coosa mill, working rotating shift, coordinating all operations and maintenance activities to ensure goals are met in safety, environmental, quality, production, and cost compliance.  Function as the primary management resource for the shift team to provide leadership, ensure proper staffing, and enforce adherence to Company policies.  Act as Incident Commander in emergency situations, such as fire, injury, environmental, equipment failure, etc.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Provide shift leadership and coordination with all departments.
  • Understand the key operating parameters that affect the mill’s ability to achieve Safety, Environmental and Quality objectives.
  • Provide incident investigation and reporting for all incidents including Safety and Environmental.
  • Interface with Maintenance Coordinators and operations on scheduling priorities.
  • Develop work assignments on daily maintenance schedules for shift maintenance personnel.
  • Distribute job packages, review feedback forms and documentation for completeness and return completed packages to Planners.
  • Secure parts and provide leadership during emergency situations.
  • Ensure that appropriate feedback and information is gathered on ALL emergency work.
  • Write work requests as needed.
  • Attend daily planning and weekly shutdown meetings when on days.
  • Provide maintenance coordination activities during peak times.

 

Knowledge and Experience

 

    • Minimum of 5 years pulp manufacturing experience in pulp/utilities preferred
    • Strong background in maintenance coordination.
    • Highly motivated team player with effective interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Self-motivated work ethic with strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to handle multiple assignments and adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
