Our Coosa Pines, Alabama location in Coosa Pines, Alabama is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Manager, Technical and Engineering Services. This job is full-time and onsite.

Primary Purpose

 

Provide leadership for Process Improvements, Environmental, FEW Management, R&D, Customer Relations, Quality, Process Safety, Lab Activities, Plant Engineering/Capital Projects and Continuous Improvement.  Directly manage Process Safety, Fiber, Energy & Water and Continuous Improvement.  Offer guidance to operational areas regarding long term trends and potential resolution.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Leader of Process Safety Management efforts at mill.  Ensure that Compliance Audits and PHAs occur and are followed up with accordingly.  Ensure MOC process is followed and Process Safety Information is kept up to date.
  • Develop projects and activities around Fiber, Energy & Water Management.  Responsibilities also include Engineering, Capital and Major Maintenance projects as well as smaller operational changes to support current and future objectives and requirements.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement efforts, from small focused teams with defined objectives to developing and tracking the mill KPIs.
  • Provide guidance and support for mill Process Information systems, such as PI and Plant Apps.
  • Offer guidance and support for Process Improvement for all mill areas.
  • Support Environmental Engineer to manage compliance to regulations and conformance to standards (ISO14001), also provide back up coverage when issues arise.
  • Support Customer Technical Service Manager to manage compliance to regulations and conformance to standards (ISO9001), also provide back up coverage when issues arise.
  • Supervise the effective management of all mill Management Systems.

 

Knowledge and Experience 

 

  • BS in Engineering or Physical Sciences.
  • Strong background in an industrial environment with 10+ years of experience.
  • Experienced in numerous computing platforms such as Excel, Word, PI, Plant Apps, etc.
  • Preferred detailed knowledge of the safety, environmental and quality requirements of a large integrated pulp mill.
  • Capability to communicate and interact with all levels within the organization and external parties both verbally and written.
  • Ability to extract ideas from the organization and beyond and implement said ideas.
  • Ability to provide leadership for the organization from an indirect supervisory role.
