Our location in Calhoun, TN is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Logistics Manager. This job is Full-time.

Primary

                                                      

Manages daily logistics activities of the RFP Calhoun site to safely minimize freight expenses and meet customers on time deliveries. Primary responsibilities are as follows:

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • See all carriers and staff follow the mills safety policies while on site
  • Manage the Logistics for Tissue, Pulp, and Paper for on time delivery at minimum costs
  • Develop long-term policies and guidelines to stabilize or reduce distribution costs in Calhoun.
  • Maintain adequate carrier base to meet customer deliveries
  • Evaluating freight services and relations.
  • Negotiating carrier contracts and rates
  • Manage subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs
  • Manage changes needed in SAP to successfully monitor and ship products
  • Manage the SAP implementation for Tissue Logistics
  • Develop KPI for Logistics Service and Cost so that they can be monitored and managed
  • Develop process for monitoring pickup appointments, delivery appointment, and service level KPIs for carriers
  • Responsible for Calhoun Shunting services
  • Use experience to assist other Resolute Tissue Operations to minimize costs and improve efficiencies.
  • Coordinate distribution activities within Converting, Sales, and Customer Service
  • Establish department goals and objectives compatible with corporate goals and develop strategy to attain goals.
  • Control carrier selection and routing to maintain competitive balance and promote viable and economical transportation system.
  • Work with mill, carrier, and customer personnel to develop transportation system that provides on-time, damage-free deliveries.

 

 

 

 

Knowledge and Experience 

 

Preference will be given to an individual possessing logistics and customer service experience.  Knowledge of both trucking and rail transportation systems are required.

                                                                  

  • 5-10 years’ experience in related business field
  • Thorough working knowledge of  motor carrier and warehouse operations
  • Must possess good negotiating, analytical and mathematical skills, and understanding of statistical process and accounting procedures
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be able to implement upper management directives to staff and  to attain desired results
  • Excel, Word, and Power Point knowledge is preferred
  • Experience and education will be evaluated
