The location in Montreal, (Quebec, Canada), is seeking talent to fill the position of Supervisor, Procurement. This job is full-time permanent.

Your challenge:
As an active member of the Procurement, Shared services department, you will oversee a team of six and report to the Senior Manager, Procurement and Shared services. You will manage and oversee the daily procurement process paper mills, ensuring that the required tasks are completed on time and in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
You will supervise the activities of your immediate subordinates and will have responsibility for their professional development and evaluation of their performance.
You will also be responsible for procurement, sourcing and the coordination and management of special projects such as those on product standardization. You will lead projects and initiatives of the procurement team paper mills, and be accountable in this regard.
More specifically, you will focus on the following aspects:
Operational management
• Ensure purchase orders of the day are placed and support buyers team in that effect;
• Assist buyers in their follow-ups with the suppliers and insure compliance with the delivery of the ordered products;
• Ensure that all invoices are settled promptly and work with the buyers, mills, AP and the suppliers to facilitate invoice processing;
• Keep the Director, Procurement & shared services, informed on the initiatives set in motion to improve and document procurement processes;
• Responsible for compiling of monthly KPI's and developing corrective plan with buyers when necessary;
• Coordinate monthly conference calls with the buyers, the mills and AP to discuss ongoing procurement issues;
• Conduct weekly meetings with buyers;
• Ensure that mill personnel understands the procurement guidelines of the Company and that justification forms are duly completed;
• Identify products that can be standardized and coordinate standardization in conjunction with the factories;
• Conduct negotiations on commodities and establish agreements on the matter;
• Take on the management of supplier relationships and resolve any problems that may arise between mill and a particular supplier;
• Manage the team of buyers with respect to vacation, sick days and IT profiles;
• Act as a coach to the buyers and prepare the training activities;
• Support team members in regards to process improvement and adapt work to reflect entailed changes;
• Lead cross-functional team responsible for the launch of a new product and related negotiations;
• Identify and implement solutions to improve the efficiency of the team;
• Assess current departmental organization and make suggestions on how to reorganize the team to achieve optimal efficiency of workflow.
SAP in our daily lives
• Work with buyers to standardize the way they use SAP and act as SAP functionality expert for the group.
• Develop, document and maintain Standard Operating SAP Procedures.
• Coach buyers in using SAP's to it full capacity.
• Organize weekly meetings with buyers to understand their obstacles with the system and work with them to overcome them,
• Develop and automate weekly and monthly reports to measure departmental performance
• Act as liaison between the group of buyers, management team and SAP project group.
• Make suggestion of how to organize the department given the new SAP reality
Your profile:
• BSc degree in supply chain management, logistics or business administration;
• 5 years’ experience or more in procurement or purchasing;
Your skills:
• Excellent communication skills (spoken and written) in both official languages;
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities;
• Excellent managerial and training skills;
• Strong leadership capabilities;
• Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques;
• Talent in negotiations and networking;
• Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software;
• Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers;
• Experience in collecting and analyzing data;
• Strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
• Ability to collaboratively drive issues to closure;
• Ability to work as part of a team, to communicate with all levels of the organization and to adapt quickly to change;
• Ability to make appropriate decisions rapidly based on experience and judgment even when having incomplete information and/or being under pressure;
• Experience with SAP, an asset.
